Ingredients

  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a pot, cook turkey bacon until crispy, then set aside.
  2. Sauté onions and garlic in the same pot until soft.
  3. Add flour, cook for 1 minute, then gradually add chicken broth.
  4. Bring to a boil and stir until thickened.
  5. Add broccoli and simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Stir in cream and cheese until melted.
  7. Crumble bacon and add to the soup before serving.

Notes

  • For extra creaminess, blend half the soup and mix it back in.
  • Feel free to add more cheese on top when serving.
