Bubbly, Crispy Potato Gratin with Parmesan & Gruyere is a delightful dish featuring indulgent layers of cheese and perfectly baked potatoes.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds potatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel and slice the potatoes thinly.
  3. In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, milk, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper. Warm it over medium heat.
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the potatoes, followed by half of the cheese.
  5. Pour half of the cream mixture over the cheese and repeat the layers.
  6. Dot the top with butter and cover with foil.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add some chopped onions between the layers.
  • Make it ahead of time and reheat for a convenient meal.
