Ingredients

  • 6 large egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups mascarpone cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup brewed espresso, cooled
  • 1/2 cup coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until pale and creamy.
  2. Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese until combined.
  3. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, then fold it into the mascarpone mixture.
  4. In a shallow dish, combine the espresso and coffee liqueur. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the mixture.
  5. Layer half of the dipped ladyfingers in a 9×13 inch dish, then spread half of the mascarpone mixture over them.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  8. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder.

  • For a richer flavor, let the tiramisu sit overnight before serving.
