  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup eggnog
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Add the egg, eggnog, vanilla extract, and nutmeg; mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, and stir until well combined.
  6. Form the dough into balls and roll in the cinnamon sugar.
  7. Place on a baking sheet and make a thumbprint in the center of each cookie.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden.
  9. Allow to cool completely before serving.

  • For a richer flavor, add a pinch of cloves.
