  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine dried figs, walnuts, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and orange juice. Mix until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, mixing well.
  5. Gradually blend in the flour mixture, then fold in the fig mixture until combined.
  6. Roll out dough to about 1/4 inch thickness and cut into rectangles.
  7. Place a spoonful of the fig mixture in the center of each rectangle and fold over, sealing the edges.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Once cooled, drizzle with powdered sugar glaze.
