- 4 large russet potatoes
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup crispy turkey bacon, chopped
- 1/4 cup green onions, sliced
- Peel and cube the potatoes.
- In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually add the chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
- Add the potatoes and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Stir in the heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Cook for another 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
- Stir in the cheddar cheese until melted.
- Serve topped with turkey bacon and green onions.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add some sour cream before serving.
