A rich and creamy loaded baked potato soup topped with crispy turkey bacon.

  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup crispy turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1/4 cup green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Peel and cube the potatoes.
  2. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Gradually add the chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
  5. Add the potatoes and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  7. Cook for another 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
  8. Stir in the cheddar cheese until melted.
  9. Serve topped with turkey bacon and green onions.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add some sour cream before serving.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated.
