These gingerbread cookies are the perfect holiday treat, combining warmth and sweetness in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
  3. Mix in molasses, egg, and vanilla.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients.
  5. Chill the dough for at least 2 hours.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Roll out dough and cut into shapes.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  9. Let cool before decorating.
