This Philly Cheesesteak recipe features tender steak, sautéed onions, and bell peppers, all topped with melted cheese, creating a delicious and easy classic sandwich.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hoagie rolls

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and peppers, and sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Push the vegetables to the side of the pan, add the sliced steak, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  4. Combine the vegetables and steak, then lay the provolone slices on top and cover until melted.
  5. Fill each hoagie roll with the steak and vegetable mixture, then serve.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add sautéed mushrooms.
  • Use a meat slicer for the steak for better results.
